The spirit of anti-art, with Dadaism as its principal manifestation, has been distinguished from other radical tendencies by a concern to challenge and attack the foundations of modem culture and society. Mr. Taylor considers reasons for the emergence of this spirit and the significance of the revived interest in anti-art since the war.
