Tonight's disputation is really formed of three disputations. Two of the team in turn dispute the contrasting theses: Morals can do without Religion and Religion can do without Morals. Finally the third member, who so far has taken no part in the debate, attempts to defend a position-synthesising, in his view, all the positive points made by the other two in the course of their discussion-and to meet their objections.
