A car owner is deceived into giving a rogue possession of a car and its log book. With these the rogue deceives an innocent purchaser into ' buying' the car. In this talk Professor Powell considers which of two innocent parties should suffer.

Karl Miller talks about the work of John Middleton Murry , who died in March
' Murry sometimes went back on his best perceptions and part of his theory is seriously unsound. But I think he will mainly be remembered as a kind of literary theorist. Theory, though, is perhaps too big a name. His general writings are often exceptionally close to his own critical practice and his theory includes a dislike of literary theory of the usual kind.'
