Peter Fraenkel has travelled many thousands of miles in the Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland recording African music for transmission from Lusaka. This group from Nyasaland, recorded on a recent journey, includes songs that are sociologically as well as musically interesting; for, as often in Africa, the words, in various matters, urge compliance with the ways of society.
