Part 2
Talk by R. Y. Jennings
Whewell Professor of International Law in the University of Cambridge and Fellow of Jesus College
Whenever territory is transferred from one state to another, by whatever process, the question arises how far the new possessor is bound to honour the obligations incurred by the old. This is the subject of a recently published work by D. P. O'Connell in which he attempts to answer these questions in the light of British practice.
Four socratic dialogues written by Nirad C. Chaudhuri
1 — Now that April's there *
Nirad Chaudhuri's Autobiography of an Unknown Indian created a considerable stir when it was published in Britain in 1951. Last year the Overseas Services of the BBC invited him to visit England to see how far the country corresponded to the idea of it that he had gained from literature. This is the first of four programmes of his impressions.
The part of Nirad Chaudhuri is played by Hugh Griffith and his two sons by Basil Jones and Richard Bebb
Produced by Gerard Mansell
