Talk by Pastor Eberhard Bethge
Dietrich Bonhoeffer died at the hands of the Gestapo ten years ago. His influence on young pastors in the Confessing Church of Germany during their struggle with the Nazi regime was considerable, and his writings are still widely read in Germany. Most of them have recently been translated into English, and now his principal work, Ethics, has been published. Pastor Bethge edited this work in its German edition and was for many years a close friend of Bonhoeffer. It was to him that most of the letters from prison were written, and he has now succeeded Bonhoefter as Pastor of the German congregation in London.
