A talk by Rabbi Dr. Ignaz May baum on the life and work of Franz Rosenzweig (1886-1929)
Contemporary with Oswald Spengler, Franz Rosenzweig made his great contribution in a book called The Star of Redemption. Unlike Spengler, Rosenzweig went on to develop a philosophy of hope. For the greater part of his remaining life after publishing The Star of Redemption he was paralysed, but continued to work out the implications of his philosophy.
