Davies recently spent an afternoon in Bra, a small town outside Turin; he was looking at the work of Bernardo Antonio Vittone-little known in this country but, in the speaker's view, one of the great Baroque architects. He describes the church of Santa Chiara, Vittone's most important building, and reassesses Vittone's contribution to the main Baroque tradition.
