Arland Ussher , the Irish philosopher, comments on Shaw's outlook and influence
' Shaw,' says the speaker, ' brought philosophy out of the universities and art out of the coleries, as he took revolution out of anarchist cellars and gave a needed dusting and ventilating to all three. His greatness was that he put both philosophy and life upon the boards; but it was his weakness that his thought and his art were never fused.'
