A programme of gramophone records by Helen Henschel
This afternoon Helen Henschel, daughter of the late Sir George Henschel, the famous conductor and singer, gives the first of a series of six talks in which she will relate her personal musical recollections illustrated by gramophone records. Specially interesting will be anecdotes told her by her father, who knew most of the great musicians of his period.
Miss Henschel will also read extracts from her father's diary. Among her reminiscences, listeners will hear interesting things about Paderewski, Tchaikovsky, Brahms, the Monday 'Pops', the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and a 'Tuesday Evening' at Alma-Tadema's studio in the 'nineties.
