THE KING AND QUEEN at the site of the Empire Exhibition,
Scotland

The steel framework of next year's Empire Exhibition will rise within a few yards of the Royal car when their Majesties visit Bellahouston Park, Glasgow, today. They will be received by Lord Elgin on the brow of Bellahouston Hill, overlooking the mass of girders and excavations which, by May of next year, will be transformed into the greatest exhibition of its kind that the world has seen since Wembley.
A short distance from the site of the Exhibition's 300-foot observation tower, His Majesty will unveil a rough-hewn block of Aberdeen granite marking the site of the Empire Exhibition. Lord Elgin will present to His Majesty Cecil M. Weir , the convener of the Exhibition, Thomas S. Tait , the architect, and also several of the workmen from the park. An article on Scotland's Royal Salute, by Melville Dinwiddie , will be found on page 6.
