(From Bristol)
In his previous talk on May 24 Mr. Maurice Reckitt , author of ' Christian Sociology of Today', contrasted the social policies of the modern world with the social policy of Christianity-which is to restore man to the centre of the social order and involves' facing in a new spirit the great problems of money, machinery, and leisure.
In his final talk in this series this afternoon Mr. Reckitt will answer the pressing, practical question—What can we do ?

Rootham
Lento-Andante-Allegro; Adagio; Allegro molto
Dr. Cyril Rootham was given the post of organist and musical director of St. John's College, Cambridge, in 1901, when he was no older than twenty-six; he has held that post ever since. His influence has in that time been enormous, for a number of distinguished musicians of today graduated at Cambridge and came under Dr. Rootham's tuition. He has also composed a great deal in the time he has been able to spare from his duties.

Bocquet
Roland Bocquet was born in 1878 at Saharandur, India, where his father held an important post on the staff of the Government Railways. Bocquet was educated at Bedford Modern School, and afterwards entered the Woolwich Military Academy, eventually obtaining a commission in the Royal Engineers. At the end of twelve months of military life he decided that he would rather be a musician than a soldier, so he went to the Royal Academy of Music and was a fellow student of Arnold Bax. Bocquet's next move was to Dresden, where he continued his musical studies, but his pleasant surroundings and the fact that his first compositions met with the approval of his circle of German friends, decided him to make Dresden his home, where he has lived ever since, except for the wartime period, when he was interned in Ruhleben Camp.

An appeal on behalf of THE NATIONAL PLAYING FIELDS
ASSOCIATION by Major RAPHAEL JACKSON
The National Playing Fields Association was formed in 1925 to deal with the problem of providing every town and village with a recreation ground. It was recognised that the widespread and growing shortage of playing fields would in the long run have a serious effect on the health and morale of the youth of the country, and that a national effort was needed to remedy social conditions that deprived so many boys and girls of the opportunity to play games.
The growth of the population, the rapid development of towns, and the ever growing danger of the roads to children make the work of the Association more urgent every year. But the funds that were available have been exhausted.
