In a Sports Talk some months ago listeners heard about the difficulties Of a Cup Final referee who has to face a crowd of 90,000 spectators, all ready to boo him if he makes a mistake. Tonight listeners are to hear about the difficulties of a Junior League referee who, more often than not, faces no crowd at all. A couple of linesmen. Perhaps even no goal-posts. What is he to do ?
Mr. F. S. Walburn has refereed various Junior League- matches during the last six years in the Bradford district as far afield as Halifax and Harrogate. The largest fee he was ever paid was 7s. 8d., collected in coppers from the teams. As he walked off the field with his pockets sagging, he must have thought of a labour of love.

Dance bands are the vogue. They have proved one of the surest drawing cards at Music-Halls all over the country, and the inclusion of one in a radio Music-Hall bill is becoming ever more popular.
Harry Roy and his popular band from the May Fair Hotel will be sure of a great welcome tonight.
Harry is to broadcast one of his own comedy numbers for the first time, and, as listeners know, he has the gift of putting his personality over the air. He is a great character, this small, dapper little man who is so full of life. Bill Currie and Ivor Moreton are his two other vocalists, the latter being pianist as well.
Some listeners may not know that
Haver, of Haver and Lee, covers the identity of Clay Keyes , author of Charing Cross Road. Lee was Frank, of Frank and Vesta, the well-known dance act.
Haver and Lee knew each other as small boys and made a vow to do an act together one day. They did it, as listeners know, with the happiest results.
Keith Wilbur was an engineer before he started a stage career in 1925. He has broadcast his clever impersonations all over Australia and the States.
With such other popular favourites as Stainless Stephen and Lily Morris in the bill, it should certainly be a great evening.
