Three programmes on the meaning, progress, and social consequences of automation
I-Automation in Factories
Bruce Miller conducts an enquiry into the progress of automation in British industry
Bruce Miller, an Australian by birth and Lecturer in Politics at University College, Leicester, describes himself as ' a semi-official layman interested in the probable effects of technological changes.'
The next programme will deal with automation in service organisations such as banks, shops, and railways; and in the final programme a panel including representatives of industry and the unions will answer some questions about the economic and social effects of automation.
