by Paul Shishkoff
As a small boy Paul Shishkoff used to spend the summer at an estate not far from Moscow near the home of the playwright Anton Chekhov. He became friends with the writer and used to go fishing with him. He believes his own mother and her two sisters served as models for the play ' The Three Sisters.'
