The Jet Stream by P. A. Sheppard , F.Inst.P.
Professor of Meteorology Imperial College, London

These reports led to the discovery of streams of air moving at high speed for thousands of miles in the upper atmosphere-the so-called jet streams. In this talk Professor Sheppard deals with this new meteorological phenomenon and its importance to the weather forecaster.
