World University Service (formerly known as International Student Service) was formed in 1920 to assist students and lecturers in need. With headquarters in Geneva, and with national committees in more than thirty countries, the Service, which is dependent entirely on volumary contributions, now raises and spends some £300,000 each year.
By giving help without discrimination on grounds of race, religion, nationality, or political creed, it seeks .not only to relieve immediate hardship but to develop international friendship between those who will eventually qualify for .professional and other responsible positions.
