A series of four talks in which Canon T. R. Milford, Chancellor of Lincoln, discusses the place of discipline in the Christian life
4-Discipline and Freedom
In previous talks Canon Milford has dealt with the discipline imposed upon us by things and by people, as well as the discipline we impose upon ourselves. In this last talk he discusses the meaning of freedom which comes as a result of discipline. Freedom is not doing what you want, but learning through obedience to do what is best. The true end of discipline is not the loss of freedom but the finding of it.
