Cage-birds carry on' by E. R. W. Lincoln
Although cage-birds have been overshadowed since the outbreak of war by utility animals, we can easily overlook the importance of this hobby and the keenness of its fanciers. Moreover, the export of cage-birds in peace-time has been a factor in matters of foreign exchange. Britain sold £50,000 to £70,000 worth of canaries to the U.S.A. and other countries before the war, and even now some consignments are sent abroad.
Today E. R. W. Lincoln will discuss how fanciers are carrying on, and will describe some of the ways in which they can help to overcom the present shortage of feeding- 1 stuffs.

Jean Pougnet (violin)
Anthony Pini (cello)
The Concerto for violin, cello, and orchestra is one of Brahms's noblest works, the slow movement of which is extremely beautiful. For its perfect interpretation it is necessary that the soloists should be similar in style and outlook. Thus Jean Pougnet and Anthony Pini , who have played together in chamber music for many years, make an admirable team.
