byGwyn Jones
A programme of Monmouthshire scenes and memories with music arranged by Idris Lewis and songs of Gwent sung by Elizabeth Evans and Tom Pickering
Produced by T. Rowland Hughes
'Gwent'; the country of Arthur Machen and W. H. Davies , of Llanthony and Tintern, of domed hills and grey industrial valleys, will be the theme of this feature programme. The programme will reveal a land of sudden contrasts, and of a virile people, and listeners will hear some ancient songs of Gwent, including the famous Llanover reel, an old tune which was very popular at country dances and rural festivals.
