A new parlour game for listeners presented by Neil Munro with David Miller as Master of Ceremonies
Members of C. B. Cochran 's Revue, Lights Up v.
Members of the BBC Repertory Company
One of the first parlour games presented to listeners during the war was ' My Aunt went to Town ', and it proved one of the most popular of all. This ' Christmas Shopping' will be on similar lines, except that the articles, purchased will no longer need to be of the same initial. The competitors, however, will have a more difficult memory test, as they will have to remember not only the gifts but also who they bought them for, in their proper order. For example, ' I went Christmas Shopping and I bought six pipe-cleaners for Uncle Fred'. The next competitor would follow with ' I went Christmas Shopping and I bought six pipe-cleaners for Uncle Fred and a cake of soap for my Aunt Augusta '.
