The story of an Atlantic crossing
Devised by Scott-Yorke. Production by Alan Melville
Towards the end of 1938, a Glasgow skipper and crew were sent to St. John, New Brunswick, to bring home a 200-ton mud-hopper, and they crossed the Atlantic in the height of the December gales. This programme, while written as fiction, is based in part on the actual crossing in which the author was a member of the crew.
