Theatre Orchestra
(Leader, Tate Gilder ) conductor, Stanford Robinson
Presented by Gwen Williams and George Lestrange
Listeners may remember a programme, ' Round Britain ', broadcast in June, in which H. V. Morton , in association with Stanford Robinson and the BBC Theatre Orchestra, took them on a musical journey round the British countryside. Today's programme is planned to remind us of some of the historic events that have been enacted in Britain, often In defence of freedom and liberty, and this makes this broadcast all the more inspiring today. H. V. Morton hopes to read his own narrative. John Tainsh and Harold Williams both sang in the previous broadcast.
