and his Sophisticated Players with Monti Ryan , Janet Lind , and Fred Latham
For his broadcast this evening, Percival Mackey , who is conducting the London Symphony Orchestra for the film round the life story of Leslie Stuart called Do You Remember ?, is using an entirely new mystery combination of eleven performers. In style it will be melodious and rhythmic, and its unusualness will lie in the fact that although it is a rhythmic ensemble, yet it has none of the regular features of dance combinations, such as sax or brass sections. Neither does it employ piano, drums, or accordion.
The vocalists are all well-known broadcasters. Monti Ryan will be remembered for her frequent appearances in television before the war.
