7.15 What Is Programmed Learning?: 2: Linear Programmes
A series of five programmes specially prepared for teachers.

Last week's broadcast ended with a short, specially written 'linear programme'. Today's broadcast shows the way in which the subject matter was analysed, and the techniques used to write the 'frames'. After this broadcast, you are invited to write the next set of 'frames' for yourself.
Written and presented by George Leith, Department of Education, University of Birmingham.

7.45 The Tools of Science: 2: X-ray Diffraction
A series of six programmes.
Introduced by Professor Donald Rogers of Imperial College.

The interpretation of X-ray diffraction patterns has led to very important discoveries about the structure of molecules. In tonight's programme Professor Rogers explains the principles of X-ray diffraction and shows how patterns may be used to obtain what is virtually a 'photograph' of molecules in a crystal.
