Harry, an accountant with a Midlands industrial firm, succumbs to the temptation to steal eighty pounds from the office. Like other people who have made the same sort of mistake, he fully intends to pay it back. But at the start of the play, on one Friday evening, the boss looks into Harry's office and asks him to have his completed accounts ready by Monday morning. So Harry has the weekend in which to get himself out of his predicament, for the money has been spent on school fees....
Tonight's play is written by Eileen Hall, a writer new to television, who lives in Nottingham and for several years has been a teacher at various schools. First heard as a radio play in the Midland Home Service in 1957, it will be produced for television from the BBC's Midland Studios by Peter Dews.
