This film shows you the wild life along the banks of an African river, the fascinating birds and the more sinister inhabitants, crocodiles and the monitor lizards that rob the crocodiles' nests. These reptiles are cruel; but the beautiful and the ugly both are true and exist side by side in Nature.

The Viking ships now preserved at Oslo were some of the finest sea-going craft ever built. Glyn Daniel and George Naish, of the National Maritime Museum, tell the story of the earliest boats in Northern Europe and how they developed into ships that were capable of crossing the Atlantic.
