2/2. Steve Harley concludes a tribute to Buddy Holly , who would have been 70 last Thursday.
Consistently credited with radically influencing rock 'n' roll-based pop, Holly had hits from the summer of 1957 until his death, aged 22, in February 1959. But both his chart success and status as a music legend increased even after his death, particularly in the UK. This two-parter explores the many facets of his career. Contributors include members of the Crickets.
Plus archive input from
Buddy Holly , his manager Norman Petty and his family. Also,
Paul McCartney , George Harrison ,
Hank Marvin , Lonnie Donegan , Cliff Richard and Roger Daltrey.
