Featuring Oliver Knussen and the BBC Symphony Orchestra. Schoenberg's Five Orchestral Pieces were given their first performance at the 1912 Proms, whereas Knussen's Violin Concerto was first heard here in 2003. Also featured tonight is the UK premiere of a recent work by the 81-year-old Henze, and a performance of another Knussen favourite, Stravinsky's Rite of Spring.
