Purcell in the Alehouse
The Merrie Fellowes Catch Club are meeting at the George Inn in Southwark, London.
Lucie Skeaping joins them and, with the club's chairman, Patrick Johns , traces the history of the catch and the glee. With songs by Purcell, Isham, Lawes and Ravenscroft to words of a typically colourful and sometimes bawdy nature.

Of the 25 entrants to the BBC Cardiff Singer of the World competition, 18 also entered the recital song prize, and these have now been whittled down to just five. lain Burnside is joined by Humphrey Burton at St David's Hall in Cardiff for the recital song competition final, and the announcement of the winner by jury chairman Anthony Freud.
The final of the main BBC Cardiff Singer of the World competition can be heard tomorrow at 6.30pm
The recital song prize final will be televised on BBC4 in July
