Music from the Saxon Court
August the Strong (1670-1733), King of Poland and Prince-Elector of Saxony, had two great passions: music and hunting. Reinhard Goebel with Musica Antiqua, Koln, perform hunting music by Hasse, Albinoni, Heinichen, Fasch and Veracini, all written for the court.

John Lill made his London debut at the Royal Festival Hall aged 18, and he returned to the RFH last month to celebrate his 60th birthday with a recital of some of his favourite composers, including Beethoven, with whom he has become closely associated. Plus some Schumann that's new to his repertoire.
