CPE Bach was employed by the Crown Prince of Prussia, who became King
Frederick II in 1740. Bach continued to work as the principal keyboard player at court until 1767, accompanying, directing and teaching aristocrats, but he still found time to compose. In his first five years of service he wrote 20 keyboard sonatas and ten concertos. Presented by Donald Macleod.
