Michael Berkeley 's guest is the scholar and theologian Thomas Wright , Canon at Westminster Abbey. Canon Wright has written extensively about Christianity, especially concerning the personalities and teachings of Jesus and St Paul. His musical choices include works by Handel, Beethoven, Schubert and Sibelius, and also embrace Bob Dylan and the Original Dixieland Jazz Band.

Jez Nelson presents acoustic bass virtuoso Avishai Cohen, recorded this summer at London's Pizza Express, playing material from his latest release and third solo album, Colors. His band features a line-up of some of New York's finest players, including Jason Lindner on piano, Jeff Ballard on drums and Avi Lebovich on trombone. Plus a profile of guitar legend John McLaughlin by jazz writer Stuart Nicholson. McLaughlin has recently reformed his Shakti ensemble to tour and record.
