John Casken's two act chamber opera, to a libretto by the composer and Pierre Audi, is based on a 16th-century Czech legend in which a rabbi uses the power of the Kabbalah to make a huge man out of clay. His creation the golem - is to be an invincible protector of the innocent.
Introduced by Nigel Osborne.
