The Chicago jazz scene in the 20s was dominated by a group of white musicians who had been to the same school - Austin High. They include Bud Freeman ,
Frank Teschmacher and Jim Lannigan. In this series of three programmes, Paul Vaughan follows the story of this influential group with the help of interviews with saxophonist Freeman and trumpeter
McPartland, both of whom died in March within two days of each other.
