The third and final volume of The Life and Times of Ernest Bevin , by Lord Bullock, covering the years as Foreign
Secretary, has yet to be published. In this studio version of a lecture delivered earlier this year at the Royal
Institute of International Affairs, he gives his judgement on the work of Bevin establishing the Western Alliance 1947-50.
