Compiled and written by Sam Richards

A portrait of Robert Hard, stonebreaker and singer in South Brent, Devon, in the 19th century, whose songs were written down by that indefatigable collector, The Rev Sabine Baring-Gould. A portrait also of South Brent itself, as it is recollected by present-day people, who remember earlier times, with Fred Bryant as Robert Hard and John Linstrum as Baring-Gould.
