Chabrier is mainly remembered for his operas, and the operetta Une Education manquee is broadcast in full on Wednesday. Duparc's songs, though few. are considered his finest work and most of them will be heard this week.

A volume containing almost the complete lyrical work of Bertolt Brecht (1898-1956), the great German playwright and poet, has recently been published in this country. This is the first of two programmes in which some of the new translations can be heard, together with the original German.
