Poems of a British soldier
While Michell Raper was doing his National Service in Pales-tine during the period before and just after Independence in 1948 he began,to write poetry expressing the attitudes of a young British soldier to the events, characters and places he was involved with. Tonight, after a quarter of a century, he looks back at his earlier self, and tries to set his verse commentaries in a prose perspective.
