Prokofiev Oratorio: Ivan the Terrible (first performance in this country)
Prokofiev composed the music for the film Ivan the Terrible between 1942 and 1945 in collaboration with Eisenstein. The present score was first performed, with great success, in Moscow in 1961 as part of Prokofiev's 70th birthday celebrations.
