The first of two talks by MARK GIROUARD
' Queen Anne ' was the name applied to a style of English architecture that became amazingly popular in the 1870s and was still going strong in 1900. Although it had been simmering for a good few years, it came to the boil one morning and in one place: in the architecture room at the Royal Academy on the opening morning of its annual exhibition in May 1873.
