It is two years since the present Pope came from Poland. Already he has created a unique worldwide reputation by his charismatic presence, his warmth of personality, and his non-stop travels. But behind the public euphoria, a struggle is going on for the heart of the Roman Catholic Church, a struggle in which many observers think the Pope himself is playing a decisive role.
