by JOHN WHITING. Based on the book by ALDOUS HUXLEY with D'ArmagNigel Stocknac,the Governor and Grandier, a liberal sensualist priest, is destroyed by his enemies and by a Nun, Sister Jeanne who, pretending to be obsessed in order to relieve her emotional frustrations, names Grandier as the cause of her demonic possession.
The action of the play takes place in and near the town of Loudun between 1623 and 1634. Adapted for radio and directed by MARTIN JENKINS
