The African Condition 2: The Cross of Humiliation
All Mazrui, Professor of Political Science at the University of Michigan, argues that although Africans are not the most brutalised of peoples, they are probably the most humiliated in modern history. With examples from his own personal experience. PROFESSOR MAZRUI examines the history of humiliation from the slave trade to what he describes as the last bastion of institutionalised racism and racial segregation, in South Africa. He argues that a worldwide consensus is emerging about issues of race. ' In future, people will quarrel over incomes, jobs and commodities. They will quarrel less and less over race and tribe.'
