starring the BBC Drama Repertory Company in a modern interpretation of a revenge tragedy by JOHN FLETCHER
This new work for radio is written in the style of an Elizabethan revenge tragedy, but unlike most plays in that genre the events described are set in this country. Stourton was a real 16th-century Catholic landowner who came into conflict with his Protestant neighbours. Unable to obtain justice in the courts, Stourton was forced into an act of violence leading to his own death.
