Brother Jack by t. R. PUGH John inherited the farm and stayed to work it, while brother Jack went to London to make his fortune. Now, years later, John is ill and finds the farm work too heavy for him, while Jack, having made his fortune, feels the need to opt out of the rat-race and move with his family to the country. All seems set for a simple solution - but Jack has counted without the deep resentment that his elder brother has suppressed for so long.

On 14 June 1791 a group of peaceful citizens of Birmingham intended to celebrate the second anniversary of the French Revolution. This is the story of how that peaceful dinner turned into a riot which made the Home Secretary send in the army.
