The Portuguese can call on the services of the likes of Brazilian Jesus Pena, whose spectacular solo effort against Nantes secured their place in the last eight, but Liverpool showed in their aggregate triumph over Italy's AS Roma in the previous round that they have the squad to hold their own with Europe's top teams.
