The Holby City hospital crew are back with a heart-stoppingly good two-parter, which opens with staff nurse Sam Colloby lying in a pool of blood on the floor - remember that when the last series ended in March, he was plunging backward over the balcony railings on to the crowded casualty reception below. The serious head injuries he sustains devastate his friends and colleagues and it is this storyline that dominates the programme.
That's not to say there aren't several other equally gripping stories going on, including the one about Sean, Chloe and Tina; their friendship is severely strained -not surprisingly - since Tina found out that best mate Chloe was pregnant by Tina's lover Sean. There's also an almost incidental accident that will have a huge effect on the next episode, which airs tomorrow.

The docusoap returns for a fourth series.
Tonight Jeremy Spake joins a flight bound for a spectacular encounter with the eclipse. WPC Davis hunts for an illegal taxi tout, andjournalist Steve Mellor braves the mêlée as Monica Lewinsky flies in. See today's choices.
