Two-part drama re-creating a controversial murder case of 1913, starring Jack Lemmon The quiet and conservative community of Atlanta, Georgia, is rocked by the murder of a teenage factory girl. The mob's accusing finger points first to the black nightwatchman - but then suspicion falls on the factory manager, a Jewish New Yorker called Leo Frank.
Based on Larry McMurtry 's version of a true-life American tragedy, this is a story of intolerance and injustice; it shows how state governor John Slaton came to risk his career and his life in an attempt to see justice done. The concluding part can be seen next Friday.
