North Wales is the setting this week where Jill Dando checks out that old favourite, the holiday camp - at Pontins in Prestatyn. There are also reports on the Gambia, where Fiona Foster tries a winter sunshine holiday in this developing West African country; and on the unspoilt countryside of Andalucia in Spain - far from the madding crowds of the Costas. At this year's Oscars ceremony, Britain was hoping to repeat its success of recent years. Emma Thompson was on the short list for Best Actress, and multi-nominated The Crying Game could well have pulled off a major prize. Of the American contenders, Clint Eastwood and Al Pacino were hoping to receive recognition from their peers for the first time. Tom Brook reports via satellite on the triumphs, surprises and disappointments of last night's Academy Awards.

Films reviewed tonight include: Splitting Heirs, a comedy starring Eric Idle, Rick Moranis and Barbara Hershey; and a re-released classic, Walt Disney's The Jungle Book.
